1970 – 2014

AUBURN — Naomi J. Libby, 43, of Auburn, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, April 27.

She was born in Portland on Aug. 15, 1970, a daughter of Robert Q. Libby of Auburn and Lois A. (Wilkins) Pike and husband, Randell, of Oxford. Naomi grew up both in Rumford and Oxford Hills.

She attended local schools and graduated from Oxford Hills High School, Class of 1988. After high school, she attended the University of Maine at Orono and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Norwich University in Vermont.

After college, she moved to Portland, Ore., where she spent 10 years working in her field. She then moved back to Maine and began running a group home in Lisbon for Tri-County Mental Health.

Naomi was a very caring person who enjoyed bird-watching and loved her two cats, Zeppo and Chico.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her sister, Justine Libby, of Portland; and her maternal grandmother, Ruth N. Wilkins, of Westbrook. She also leaves two uncles, William Wilkins Jr. of Charleston and Dr. Douglas C. Libby of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
