BRUNSWICK —   Nick Bowie walked with the bases loaded that sent Will Frank across the plate to give Oxford Hills a narrow 3-2 win over Brunswick in a mid-season KVAC tilt Thursday.

Matt Beauchesne and Nick Attaliades-Ryan led the Vikings (4-2) with two hits each in a balanced attack.

The Dragons (4-2) went scoreless until the sixth when they got some offensive effort rolling.

Freeport 5, Poland 3
POLAND —   Freeport came up with a pair of runs in the seventh inning to pull out a 5-3 victory over Poland in a mid-season WMC baseball matchup Thursday.

Peter Lamagna led Freeport with three hits and two RBIs, while Bennett Hight and Ben Humphrey each belted out two hits.

The Knights (5-2) were paced by Corey Cunliffe and Kaleb Bridgham with two hits apiece. Caleb Rice gave up five hits in seven frames for Freeport, while C.J. Martin worked the first five innings and suffered the loss.

Lacrosse

Morse 14, Mountain Valley 2
RUMFORD —  Oliver Kruze netted four goals, while Dylan Crowell and Alec Beveridge each added three as Morse easily overpowered Mountain Valley 14-2 in MVC boys’ lacrosse action Thursday. 

Kevin Tolan, Kevin Feeney, Perry Chase and Wesley McKenna also tallied to complete the scoring.

Kevin Thibodeau and Ryan Munsey combined to make seven saves for Morse, while Coyote Freeman (17) and Tyler Perry (2) turned aside 19 shots for Mountain Valley.

Brunswick 14, Edward Little 1
AUBURN —  Sarah Ferdinand and Angelica Boyle each netted a pair of goals Thursday as Brunswick overpowered Edward Little 14-1 in a girls’ lacrosse tilt. 

A total of 10 other players tallied single goals for the Dragons (3-0) to complete the scoring.

Fran Haines scored the lone goal for EL (0-4) in ther first half. Emily Aschbringer made nine saves for Brunswick, while Rianna Roewer turned aside 12 shots between the posts for Edward Little.

Maranacook/Win. 13, Oak Hill 3

WALES — Zach Glazier scored four goals and Denver Cram turned in a hat trick as Maranacook beat Oak Hill 13-3 in a boys’ lacrosse game Thursday.

For Oak Hill, Kyle Flaherty, Kaleb Sturtevant Alex Mace each scored a goal.

The Blacks Bears also received a pair of goals each from Toby Smith and Kyle Morand. Goalie Zach Bessette made five saves in net for Maranacook.

Oxford Hills 9, Brunswick 0
BRUNSWICK —   Crystal West scattered four hits and drew adequate run support as Oxford Hills cruised to a 9-0 rout over Brunswick in MVC softball action Thursday.

Taylor Johnson led the Vikings (5-1) with two hits and one RBI, while most the their runs were scored on multiple errors by Brunswick.

The winless Dragons (0-6) utilized pitcher Hannah Estoe Thursday who gave up nine hits in the loss.

Poland 12, Freeport 0
FREEPORT —  Kolby Woods allowed four hits in five frames and drew all kinds of run support as Poland easily overpowered Freeport in a mid-season WMC tilt Thursday.

Haley Whitworth led the Knights (4-4) with two hits and two RBIs. Emily Gibson also contributed with an RBI double in the second inning.

Breanna Bellefleur worked the first two frames for Freeport and was tagged with the loss.
