PORTLAND — The University of Southern Maine will host an open house for adult, transfer and graduate students from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in the Abromson Community Education Center, 88 Bedford St. Parking is free in the adjoining garage.

USM has many students who do not fit the traditional model: Forty percent of USM students are over 25, half have transferred from other colleges and one third attend part-time. The open house is designed to be a welcoming first step for nontraditional students and help them find the educational path at USM that is right for them.

Representatives from academic programs and student service representatives will be available.
