JAY — The Police Department has been awarded a $3,000 grant to crack down on seat belt and child safety seat enforcement.
Sgt. Troy Young Sr. wrote the application for the grant, which will allow the department to assign extra patrols in areas that have a higher number of crash-related injuries.
The grant, funded by the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety, will run from May 19 to June 1 in conjunction with the national Click it or Ticket campaign.
