WINSLOW — Police have arrested the ex-husband of Maine’s Republican party vice chairwoman on charges that he threatened her, her boyfriend and one of her children with a loaded gun.

The Morning Sentinel reported that police said Wilfred Morissette was intoxicated when he pulled the weapon on Susan Morissette, who is also a former state representative. The paper reported the incident occurred on Sunday night outside of Susan Morissette’s home in Winslow. The couple divorced in 2012.

Police charged Morissette with three counts of aggravated reckless conduct, two counts of domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and one count of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, all felonies. He is due in court on July 15.

Attempts to reach Wilfred Morissette were unsuccessful.
