WATERFORD — The Rifles For Heroes shooting competition will be held Saturday, May 17, at Waterford Fish & Game, 819 Norway Road.

All proceeds go to the Warrior Legacy Foundation, A Wounded Heroes Program of Maine.

First safety briefing will be at 9:30, with shooting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Every shooter needs to attend a safety briefing.

The cost is $10 to enter the competition, which is a timed three-position rifle shoot (standing, sitting and prone) with two stages, 50 and 100 yards, total round count is 30.

Categories are centerfire and rimfire, optics and no optics.

From 2 to 3 p.m., come shoot a selection of full-auto firearms provided by MDW Guns with ammo donated by Woodman’s of Norway. Must be 18 years or older to shoot full-auto. Cost is $20 for 15 rounds, all proceeds will go to the Wounded Heroes Program of Maine.

Those who don’t want to shoot are invited to come have lunch, enjoy the raffle and show support. The raffle will be drawn at 3 p.m.
