DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Christmas our grandson gave us a $50 gift card for TGI Fridays in Auburn.

They have closed with no warning. I tried calling the number on the gift card, but it says there’s no one in our area who can answer our call.

Who can I contact about this or are we out of luck with this gift card?

I appreciate your column and hope you can help me and my husband. Thank you! — No Name, Jay

ANSWER: Sun Spots emailed media relations at Fridays and received an immediate response that said you “can contact the Guest Relations department at 1-800-FRIDAYS and they will be happy to assist.”

Please let Sun Spots know if that doesn’t work.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for publishing my letter requesting information regarding missing classmates for our 60th class reunion at Lisbon High School (April 23).

Of the five people sought, I received addresses for four. Thank you!

My problem now is that Richard Heister’s sister called me, but I inadvertently deleted her phone number. Could she please call me again, as I’d like to speak to her.

Thank you very much for your help! — Connie Lessard, Auburn, 207-786-4659

ANSWER: Sun Spots is glad your letter was a success. Some readers object to the lists of names, but there seems no better way of finding people.

Plus, spring and early summer, which is when most of these requests come in, is a slow time for letters. If you want to see more interesting columns, time to write to Sun Spots!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Recently a beautiful 4-month-old baby girl named Hailey died. She had a smile that made you smile even if you did not know her. Her passing has inspired many of us to be better people parents and friends.

Hailey’s mom, Ashley, started a page on Facebook called Hugs for Hailey. The page is inspiring people to perform random acts of kindness in Hailey’s honor. Could you please share this with your readers? There could never be too much kindness in this world. — E.S. via email
