RUMFORD — Selectmen will consider requests for licenses and a parade permit, among other items, at their regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15, in Rumford Falls Auditorium.

Prior to the meeting at 6 p.m. in the auditorium, there will be a public hearing for budget and town meeting warrant articles. Selectmen and the Finance Committee are recommending that voters approve a $7.75 million municipal budget at the annual town meeting referendum on June 10. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the American Legion on Congress Street.

Thursday night’s selectmen meeting agenda includes approvals for:

* A self-contained breathing apparatus bottle bid for the Fire Department.

* Hawker’s and peddler’s licenses for Carl Touchette, doing business as Silver Platter; and Dana Levasseur, doing business as Mr. and Mrs. Sausage. Levasseur also is seeking permission for overnight parking.

* A special Board of Selectmen meeting Thursday, May 22, to approve the warrant and notice of election calling RSU 10’s budget validation referendum.

* A parade permit for the American Legion for Memorial Day.

Selectmen are also being asked to appoint David Errington as interim code enforcement officer.

Quitclaim deeds are sought for 103 South Rumford Road to Christopher and Tonia DeSalle, and 411 Cumberland St. to Don Hamann.

Additionally, the Rumford Riders All-Terrain Vehicle Club is seeking permission to use town property for a trail system and to appoint William Theriault as an applicant for the State Grant-In-Aid program.

The board will also discuss appointing a second deputy warden.

Two executive sessions are scheduled, one for an economic development matter and the other for a personnel matter.
