TURNER — The annual traditional ham supper sponsored by the North Turner Presbyterian Church will be held on Friday, May 30. It marks the unofficial beginning of summer for many locals and those arriving for the summer at Bear Pond. It also marks the official beginning of this year’s silent quilt auction.

Each year the women of the church produce a quilt for the auction, which began at Mud Supper and continues through Harvest Supper in October. Bids can be submitted during the suppers and the highest bidder at the end of Harvest Supper will go home with the prize.

The ham supper features baked ham, macaroni and cheese, applesauce, vegetables, potatoes, salads, homemade rolls and desserts.

There is no set price but good will donations will be taken at the door. Proceeds benefit the church outreach programs, which include the Turner Food Bank, the Community Clothing Center, a heating assistance program and the Sunday School program.

The supper will be at the GAR Hall, Route 219, North Turner, about a half-mile east of the Route 4 and Route 219 intersection. For more information, call 224-7913, 225-3370 or 224-7461.
