Trail race series starts May 22

NORWAY — The Nomad Trail Series 8.5K trail race series will be held the fourth Thursday of every month from May 22 through Sept. 25, rain or shine, at Roberts Farm Preserve. Start time for the five chip-timed races is 5:30.

Overall series prizes for the top three men and women are $250, $125 and $50.

Registration is $60 for the series, $15 per race, preregistered, or $20 day of race.

Proceeds benefit additional running trails at Roberts Farm Preserve.

Sermon titled ‘Language Matters’

PARIS — The Memorial Day Sunday worship service at the First Universalist Church on Pine Street on May 25 will be led by Silver Moore-Leamon with a sermon titled “Language Matters.”

Music for the 10 a.m. service is under the direction of Donna Hurd and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales.

Fellowship and coffee and goodies will follow the worship service and all are welcome. Childcare is available and the First Universalist Church is wheelchair accessible.

Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on May 19 were as follows: first/second tie, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock with Mary Trafton and Luke Merry; third, first in B, Ellie and George Wigton.

Winners of the annual membership game on May 20 were: first, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; second, Kathy Burden and Mary Trafton; third, Nancy Farmer and Richard Balian; fourth, Paul Sherman and Mike True; first in B, Kathy Burden and Mary Trafton; second, Nancy Farmer and Richard Balian; first in C, Paul Clement and Roger Labbe.

Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for more information.
