1928 – 2014

SOUTH PARIS — Maurice Dennis, 86, died on Saturday, May 17, at the Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris.

Maurice was born in Lewiston on March 17, 1928, a son of Alfred and Eva (Desjardins) Dennis. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1945 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in January 1946, serving as a tank commander in China and Guam during World War II and Korea.

Maurice is survived by his son, Stephen (Julie) Dennis, of Dayton, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Kim (Josh) Robertson of Monmouth, Kelly (Terry) Freve of Greene, Bradley (Jeannette) Dennis, Chelsee Dennis and Kyle Dennis of Dayton, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Brendan and Trevor.

He was predeceased by his parents and his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Turner.
