RANGELEY — Rangeley Lakes Region Logging Museum is gearing up for its 2014 season by adding a new “Vendor-Packed” event on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the museum festival fairgrounds.

By centralizing area vendors, it will provide opportunity for festival guests to experience the Western Maine artisans and businesses and introduce the newly developed trails, which border the Gull Pond Stream and Northern Forest Canoe Trail System, leading down to picnic tables at Haley Pond.

The museum’s first “Trails & Sales” event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, will host up to 100 vendors of all types: holistic, produce and farmer’s market, woodworkers, crafters, fiber handiwork, artisans, jewelry and photographers. Food vendors will offer a variety of specialties at the food court near the covered pavilion, with picnic tables.

Area nonprofits are welcome to fundraise at the event at a reduced rate; nonprofit spaces are limited. Local organizations will be present to discuss trail safety and provide trail maps to the surrounding areas.

Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, marks the 34th annual Logging Festival & Parade. Saturday’s festival day will feature 30 logging theme vendors: woodworkers and fiber handiwork artisans.

A benefit concert featuring Kenny Loggins, Blue Sky Riders Band and Maine’s own Mallet Brothers Band will take place that night at the Rangeley Region Health & Wellness Center.

The 20th annual Apple Harvest Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Main Street. It will once again coincide with Rangeley’s third annual Oktoberfest Festival, a four-day weekend celebration throughout Oquossoc and Rangeley. Outdoor vendor spaces of 10’x10’ will be available for rent and are limited to 30. Indoor vendor spaces have already been reserved.

Vendors wishing to participate in any or all above event(s) are asked to visit www.rlrlm.org “Calendar of Events” page to download the vendor registration or call 864-5368 (off-season phone until June 18) or 864-3939. Deadline to register for all three events is July 1.

The Logging Museum opens for the season on Wednesday, June 18.
