Homemakers to host sale
HEBRON — The East Hebron Extension Homemakers will hold the annual yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1, rain or shine, at McCafferty’s Green House,Townsend Road.
Money raised helps support the group’s community projects.
The East Hebron Homemakers are part of the Oxford County Extension Homemakers, whose purpose is to strengthen and extend adult education in the home and community. Maine Extension Homemakers goals are to develop leadership, promote the University of Maine Cooperative Extensions educational programs in all parts of Maine and support community causes.
Supper to benefit softball
NORWAY — A pasta supper to benefit Norway Youth Softball will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 30, at the Guy E. Rowe School.
The meal will include bread/rolls, salad and desserts. Donations will be accepted.
Breakfast set at teen center
OXFORD — A pancake breakfast will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Rock House Teen Center, 254 Webber Brook Road. Donations will be accepted.

Chicken pie supper Saturday
PARIS — A chicken pie supper will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the VFW Post 9787, 58 Main St.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
Church plans rummage sale
NORWAY — A rummage sale will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at St. Catherine’s Church, 32 Paris St.
There is a good selection of summer clothing. White elephant items will be available.
The monies earned will be used for retreats and programs for young people.
No youth dance at Legion
OXFORD — There will be no youth dance on Friday, June 13, at American Legion Post 1121, 69 King St.
Four-part Living Well series
BRIDGTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing will present a four-part series at Bridgton Hospital in June.
“Living Well With and Beyond Cancer” will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, June 5 through 26.
Facilitated by licensed clinical social worker and oncology counselor Theresa Beaudette, the program can help cancer patients and survivors better understand and cope with cancer’s impact on mind, body and spirit. Participants may sign up for individual sessions or for the entire series.
The series covers the following topics:
June 5: “Self-Care and Effective Communication: Do You Have a Hard Time Asking For Help?”
June 12: “The New Normal: Creating the Life that You Want Now”
June 19: “Body Image: Coping with Changes Inside and Out”
June 26: “Intimacy and Sexuality: How Has Cancer Affected This Part
of Your Life?”

OXFORD — The Oxford Duplicate Bridge Club met May 23 in the Rec. Building, King Street, when an 8 and 1/2 table Mitchell movement was played.
Finishing first in flight A N/S were Mike St. John, Westbrook, and Mike True, Auburn; second, Cathy Sanderson, Waterford, and Carol Curran, North Waterford, who also were first in flights B and C; third, Richard Balian, Waterford, and Les Buzzell, Auburn; fourth, Marlee Turner, Raymond, and Milt McKeen, Bridgton, who also were second in flights B and C.
Finishing third in flight B were Eilene Potvin, Cundy’s Harbor, and Della Starbird, Oxford; fourth, Paul Kahl, Westbrook, and Rick Verrill, Westbrook.
Finishing third in flight C were Karen Mac Neil, West Baldwin, and Dave Kallander, Harrison; fourth, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr, South Paris.

On Friday, May 30, there will be another game, same place and time, and a partner is guaranteed. All bridge players are invited.
Saturday, June 21, there will be an all-day bridge tournament, and starting times are 9 a.m., 1 and 6:30 p.m., with lunch and supper provided along with snacks throughout the day. Proceeds will go to the the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
