AUBURN — Shawn Charles Brewer (Shelton), known by many as Hacksaw, of 28 James St., Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at his place of employment on Wednesday, May 21, at the age of 42.

Shawn was born in Portland on Oct. 20, 1971, to Christine Greene and John Brewer. He attended Fairwood Bible Institute and Lisbon High School. He worked for many years towing and recently started a position and made some new family at Prompto Oil in Auburn.

Shawn enjoyed spending time with family and his two dogs, Cosmo and Harley, collecting tow trucks and making everyone he knew laugh with his very colorful sense of humor.

Shawn is survived by the love of his life, Amy Moore Brewer, his wife of 18 years; they were married in Lisbon Falls on June 15, 1996. Other survivors include his sister, Christal Lanagan and husband, Gerald, of Massachusetts; brother, Thomas Shelton, of Virginia; father-in-law, Irvin Moore and wife, Vanessa, of Lisbon Falls; mother-in-law, Carleen Labrecque and husband, Richard, of Lewiston; sister-in-law, Dixie and husband, Thomas “Bo” Colby, of Lewiston; brother-in-law, Jim Moore of Richmond; sister-in-law, Leona Eveson and husband, Dennis, of Lisbon; and sister-in-law, Casey Moore, of Wales. Shawn will also be missed greatly by his nieces, Katina and Mya Colby of Lewiston; adopted nephew, Damon Haggan, of Phillips; good friend, Keith Scott, of Auburn; aunt, Betty Brewer, of Pennsylvania; aunt, Nancy Brewer Childs and husband, Billy, of Leeds; aunt, Katheryn Alexander and husband, Scott, of Bath; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his extended family from Ace Towing of Auburn and Anytime Towing of Lewiston.

Special thanks to Ronald Parker and his wife, Lois, who took him in and cared for him since he was a teenage boy; and to Ace Towing and Almighty Waste Crew, Scott and Melissa Ferland, friends/family/owners of Ace.
