A headline on the front page of a major newspaper read, “What lies ahead for the VA?” Considering all the scandals plaguing the Obama administration, the headline should have read “What lies ahead?”

That can be looked at two ways  — more scandals ahead? Most likely. More lies ahead? Even more likely.

There are a number of scandals pending with numerous hearings and investigations being conducted that have already shown that not all people are able to tell the truth.

— Benghazi: We have seen all kinds of contradictions on that phony scandal. The congressional select committee chaired by Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., leaves me hopeful that the truth will be revealed and the people responsible for leaving four Americans to die will be held accountable.

— IRS: Another phony scandal that trampled on the First Amendment rights of many people.

— Fast and furious: Another loss of life for which no one has been held accountable. Two scandals should result in some jail time for some people.

— NSA: Another trampling of citizens’ rights.

And now there is the VA. It is likely that we are seeing only the tip of the iceberg. Maybe, just maybe, that could be the “proverbial straw” for the Obama administration.

The stakes are high and heads will roll once those scandals are fully vetted. But that will not happen unless the Republicans can earn enough votes to take the Senate this year and the White House in 2016.

In the meantime, stay tuned for both more scandals and more contradictions.
