1948 – 2014

AUBURN — On Tuesday, May 27, Lillian “Chickie” Y. Brideau, of Wilton, passed away while surrounded by loved ones at the Androscoggin Hospice House.

Chickie was born on Dec. 21, 1948, to Willie and Florence Dulac. She was a member of the Wilton Grange for four years, serving as secretary for two years.

She enjoyed spending time gardening, working on crossword puzzles, crocheting and knitting. Rides on a motorcycle, a good book and playing games on Pogo would occupy and delight her for hours. Spending time with all her family and friends was always one of Chickie’s most loved activities.

In her younger years, Chickie worked in the shoe industry. When the children came along, she was a devoted stay-at-home mom. Later on, she undertook work on a business degree at the University of Maine.

She is survived by her daughters, Leah Payne and husband, Josh, of Leeds, Tina Smith and husband, Ken, of Lewiston and Lisa Sullivan and husband, Pat, of New Gloucester; her sons, Ernest Richardson Jr. and wife, Shauna, of Bridgton and Timothy Richardson and wife, Gina, of Wilton; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her brothers, Willie and Diane Dulac, Ralph and Diane Dulac and Ronnie and Linda Dulac; sisters-in-law, Carol Holmes and Evelynn Dulac; Bert Binette, a close family friend/brother; and Barbara Reichard, her best friend/sister.

Our family would like to thank the caring staff of the Hospice House, with a special thanks to Caryn and Crystal, the special home nurses. Mom loved them all.
