1930 – 2014

BIDDEFORD — Constance E. Blanchard, 83, of Locke Mills, died on Thursday, May 22, at St. André Health Care in Biddeford.

She was born in Greenwood on Oct. 30, 1930, to Arthur and Anna (Bennett) Coolidge. Constance graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel. She married James Blanchard on Nov. 19, 1950.

Constance worked as a postmaster in Locke Mills and Bryant Pond until retirement. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Bethel.

Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, gardening and spending time at camp. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

Constance is survived by a son, Steven Blanchard and his wife, Kathi, of Limerick; three grandchildren, Kim Soulard and her husband, Scott, Kyle Blanchard and his wife, Tabitha, and Regan Blanchard; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Lappin, Parker Blanchard and Reese Blanchard; two sisters, Margaret Bailey and Annita Packard; a brother, Wilfred Coolidge; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James; a daughter, Betsy; sons, Wayne, Scott and David; brothers, Robert and Calvin Coolidge; and sister, Theresa Martin.
