1935 – 2014

LEWISTON — Marion H. Hood, 78, a resident of Robinson Gardens in Lewiston, died unexpectedly Monday evening, May 26, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Detroit, Mich., on July 18, 1935, the daughter of Edmund and Alice Fiedler. Marion grew up and was educated in Pasadena, Calif., where she met her husband, Robert Hood, through mutual friends. Together, they raised a family in Lewiston, where Marion was active in the community.

She served as former president of the Women’s Hospital Association at Central Maine Medical Center and was also active with her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, in Lewiston. She was professionally involved in real estate and Hood’s Mailing and Printing.

Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Lewiston; one son, Robert Hood Jr., of Portland, Ore.; and two daughters, Karen Hood and loving companion, James Francis, of Lewiston and Brenda Hood and husband, Brad Judson, of Olympia, Wash.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Nancy, in 1970.
