RANGELEY — In a 30-minute meeting Tuesday, acting Chairwoman Pam White led the board through a brief agenda that included votes on putting money into the Fire Department reserve account and relocating a utility pole.

Board Chairman Dave Burgess and Town Manager Tiki White were absent.

Fire Engine No. 5, described as a collector’s item, was sold to former Selectman Mark Beauregard for his bid of $8,109. The engine had a minimum bid of $5,000. The board voted to put the proceeds into the Fire Department’s reserve fund.

The board signed a permit for Central Maine Power to relocate a utility pole near Bald Mountain Road and Carry Road.

The highway department reported that eight to 10 culverts on Bald Mountain Road need replacing.

Pam White cited complaints from residents who said they were not aware of when and where town elections would be held.

The annual town elections will be held Tuesday, June 10, at the Town Office.

Tiki White had been directed to have signs and sandwich boards announcing the elections prominently displayed no later than the Friday before the election.

Some selectmen suggested requiring candidates to put the voting date on their campaign signs.

The board scheduled an executive session for Friday, June 6, to finalize the town manager’s evaluation.

The board also asked the town manager to direct the treasurer to supply a list of the town’s holdings in Franklin Savings Bank, and to request that the assessor be present at the June 17 meeting to report on his findings.

The board tabled the matter of discontinuing Vista Lane, which creates a second access to only one property off Mingo Loop, which already has private access. The town manager sent notes concerning the discontinuance, which selectmen described as a complex process with several steps.
