AUGUSTA — Prosecutors and defense attorneys have agreed to a deal that would settle charges against a former Winslow woman charged with stealing nearly $20,000 from the Winslow High School Wrestling Booster Club.
Prosecutors say Wendi Willette stole the money over a period of years while she was treasurer of the wrestling club. She was also charged with taking money from a China youth field hockey organization.
District Attorney Maeghan Maloney said that under terms of the deal that covers both clubs, Willette would be required to pay full restitution. She would not say whether the deal includes prison time.
The agreement was to be presented to a Kennebec County Superior Court on Wednesday, but was postponed until August because Willette’s attorney was ill.
