DIXFIELD — Residents approved all but two municipal budget items during Tuesday’s referendum, ballot clerk Bev Glover said early Wednesday morning.

Glover said residents approved warrant articles, except for the Executive Department budget, which was voted down 206-217, and the Code Enforcement budget, voted down 192-210.

The proposed Executive Department budget was $297,667, which was $18,325 less than this fiscal year, while the Code Enforcement budget was $15,515, or $750 less than this fiscal year.

The proposed $2.15 million municipal budget for 2014-2015 was $35,783 less than the 2013-14, and $22,602 less than the recommendation made by selectmen.

Glover said Norman Mitchell was elected to replace incumbent Robert Withrow on the Board of Selectmen for a three-year term.Withrow declined to run for another term.

Mitchell beat opponent Sean MacFarlene by three votes, 145-142. Brad Dyer, who also was  running for a three-year term, received 107 votes.
