1945 – 2014

LEWISTON — Judith E. Yates, 69, of Mechanic Falls, died Monday, June 9, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on April 1, 1945, a daughter of Fenton and Ella Walker Yates. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School and worked in the insurance industry, specifically medical billing.

Judith enjoyed reading, cooking shows and was an avid Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her sisters, Marlene Taylor of Lewiston, Sandra Yates of Mechanic Falls and Nancy Dunham and her husband, Larry, of North Monmouth; her brothers, Terry Yates and his wife, Martha, of Mechanic Falls and Michael Yates and his wife, Lee, of Oxford; her sister-in-law, Mary Lou Yates, of Mechanic Falls; 21 nieces and nephews; many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sandy Dubuc, Jo Vallee, Lisa Rawson, Ann McNally and many more friends.

She was predeceased by her mother; her brothers, Sonny and wife, Alberdine, Ronald and wife, Martha, and Arnold; sister, Pat Strout and husband, Robert; nephew, David Yates; and brother-in-law, Sonny Taylor.
