DIXFIELD — The RSU 10 board will welcome a new member when it meets July 7.

Jennifer LeDuc, a mother of three children, won a write-in race to represent Rumford. She received 167 votes to write-in candidate Bromley Cook, who received 24.

Rumford Town Clerk Beth Bellegarde said more than 40 other write-in votes were cast for various individuals.

LeDuc succeeds Tracey Higley, who chose not to run for re-election.

The only other contested race for a school board position was in Buckfield. Veteran board member and current Chairman Jerry Wiley received 198 votes to challenger Wendy Turner’s 143.

Incumbent board members who ran unopposed for their seats were Peter DeFillip, Mexico; Barbara Chow, Dixfield; and Faith Campbell, Canton.
