FARMINGTON — Despite the rain on May 4, more than 100 people turned out to support Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice’s sixth annual Hospice House 5K & Remembrance Walk.
The morning consisted of welcomes from Cindy Swift, AHCH chief operating officer, sponsors and Planning Committee members. The race kicked off at 9 a.m. with Josh Horne taking the first place spot with a time of 17:31. Miranda Nicely was the first-place female finisher, crossing the finish line in 22:28 minutes.
Horne and Nicely were accompanied by the other top 10 male finishers: Dan Lesko, Troy Hull, Frank Guarnieri, Brendan Hickey, Isaac Seigle, Dylan Starbird, Sam McIntosh, Nate Pratt-Holt and Max Blaize, and top 10 female finishers: Maggie Hickey, Deb Ouellette, Sarah Wade, Olivia Ouellette, Gretchen Cullenberg, Macie Qi, Chenoa Jackson, Casey Rogers and Stephanie Freeman.
Kasey Archer, Aaron Adams, Katie Rickards, Amy Timberlake, Garrett LaPlant, Jason Jarvis, Laurie Columbia, Randi Fisk, Lucas Patrick, Kristy Bubier, Seth Landry, Jennifer Mitchell, Mike Wentworth, Jonathan Adams, Tammy Viles, Sarah Knapp, Joline Seavey, David Chapman, Lisa Simoneau, Shari Witham, Brian Kelly, Doug Reusch, Katie Perry, Bonnie Brinegar, Jeffery Toothaker, Chris Leavitt, Sharon Cullenberg, Denise Pineau, Joyce Campbell and Jeanette Sproul were also awarded for the first- and second-place finishes in their age groups, with special recognition to Brielle Tinker, who at age 7, finished the race in 49:30 minutes. The Best Team T-Shirt award was given to “Our Brother’s Keeper,” a team of siblings who, accompanied by their mother, friends and family, walked in memory of their brother, Coe Toothaker Jr. The team wore Hawaiian T-shirts in honor of Toothaker, who lived in Hawaii for many years.
“Our Brother’s Keeper” was also recognized as being Farmington’s highest fundraising team.
