I caught a brief interview of Lewiston Mayor Bob Macdonald on the television recently. Thank goodness he had the sense to say “no” to any efforts to further the legalization of marijuana.

I didn’t catch the entire interview but I expect he was referring to the ongoing petition effort for signatures to put the issue of legalization of up to 1 ounce of marijuana for recreational use on a citywide ballot in November.

People don’t understand what that stuff can do to the thought process.

Just take it away. I know — I tried it once back in the ’60s. It slowed everything down and I sure didn’t like giving up being in control.

Now, to convince the others.
