Portable sawmill demo by KLT

WINTHROP — Join the Kennebec Land Trust for a portable sawmill demo at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at 331 Main St.

KLT’s very own recently felled spruce tree will take front and center as it is milled by Mark Birtwell to provide KLT with locally harvested boards and posts for building projects such as benches, tables and signage.

Summer reading at Strong Library

STRONG — The Summer Reading Program at Strong Public Library will run Thursdays from July 10 through Aug. 7 from 7 to 8 p.m.

Events will include crafts, snacks, story time and more. Register at the library by June 21.

VBS at Bean’s Corner Baptist

JAY — “SonTreasure Island” is the theme for this year’s Vacation Bible School at Bean’s Corner Baptist Church, at the intersection of Routes 156 and 133.

Under a treasure hunting Caribbean theme, sessions will be held Monday-Friday, June 23-27, from 9 to 11:45 a.m., and will include lively songs, skits, creative crafts, games and Bible stories based on God’s love of giving kindness and caring.

‘Weird Animals’ Bible school

LIVERMORE — The theme of North Livermore Baptist Church’s Vacation Bible School will be “Weird Animals.”

God filled the world many crazy creatures, including you. We want to celebrate each person’s uniqueness and remind everyone that Jesus loves us for who we are. Whether you’re quirky or bubbly, quiet or loud, come and experience God’s love.

Children from ages 4-12 are welcome to the waterfall at North Livermore Baptist Church, 619 Federal Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. June 23-27 to experience God’s Word in surprising and unforgettable ways through fun, singing, games, crafting and eating “weird food.”

Lobster or prime rib dinner

VIENNA — A lobster or prime rib dinner will be held Saturday, Aug. 9,  at North Vienna United Methodist Church, 572 Tower Road. Seatings will be at 5 and 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are available in advance only. They will be sold until Aug. 4. a single lobster dinner is $20, twin lobster dinner $25 and prime rib dinner, $20.
