Herb class discusses iron

LEWISTON — Week four of the Summer Herb Class Series will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 23, at The Ark, 791 Lisbon St. The fee is $10.

The theme of the Mining for Minerals class will be “Let’s Iron It Out.” Iron is an incredibly important mineral. Without it we could not manufacture hemoglobin or transport oxygen around our body.

See which foods and herbs are rich in iron, and how to incorporate them into our daily diet. We will be making a delicious salad dressing, rich in minerals, and yellow dock syrup. Participants will also take home the fourth herb plant.
