WILTON — A local teenager was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital on Tuesday evening after he ran into the side of a car and his foot was run over, police said.

Three teens were walking in the middle of the road on Village View at approximately 5:30 p.m. when a car driven by Jacob Shrewsbury, 30, of Wilton came around a curve, police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.

Two teens moved to the right, and Shrewsbury pulled his 2005 Ford sedan as far to the left as he could, she said. The third teen, Landon Mcintyre, 17, decided to go to his left and ran into the side of the car. The tire went over his foot, she read from Sgt. Chad Abbott’s report on the accident.

The names of the other teens were not available.

Mcintyre was taken by a NorthStar ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released, she said.

Members of Wilton Fire Department responded to help police at the scene.
