MONMOUTH — The Monmouth Garden Club will hold a garden tour featuring eight gardens on Saturday, June 28, starting at 10 a.m.

Members chairing the event are Penny Ackley, Pam Mulliken and Barbara Mushlit and assisted by Paula Champagne.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in advance at DR Struck in Winthrop, Gammon Landscape Nursery in Auburn, Longfellow’s Greenhouses in Manchester, Roak the Florist in Lewiston, Springbrook Golf Course in Leeds and Roaring Brook Nurseries in Wales.

Tickets the day of the tour are $20 and may be purchased at all garden sites. The ticket is an eight page brochure with overview maps, addresses and descriptions of all the gardens.

The tour starts with a walking tour of the University of Maine Highmoor Farm on Route 202 and is available from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The Fairy and Gnome garden by Kerri Day in Greene and will have a make-your-own-fairy workshop for children at 1 p.m. The charge is $5 for child and parent. A Fairy-Gnome Tea Party will be offered from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The gardens include a Japanese water garden by Pam Mulliken; a rock garden by Cecile Randolph; shade and sun gardens and a tour of Roaring Brook Nurseries’ strawberry fields from 2 to 4 p.m.

All the gardens are within the proximity of South Monmouth, Monmouth, Greene and Wales.

Luncheon is hosted by the United Church of Monmouth near Cumston Hall. Lobster roll, side dish, salad and dessert with beverage for $14 or salad, side dish, dessert with beverage for $8.
