NEW SHARON — Jennifer Pooler will represent the town on the RSU 9 Board of Directors until the next town meeting in March 2015, Selectman Lorna Nichols said Wednesday.
Director Bill Reid announced in March he was resigning as of June 30. He told fellow directors that he plans to spend more time with his family.
Pooler formerly served on the RSU 36 Board of Directors in the Livermore Falls area but resigned in 2011 when she moved out of the district to New Sharon. The district has since consolidated with Jay to become RSU 73.
Pooler works for the Maine Department of Education.
Nichols said two people expressed interest in the position. Greg Webber also expressed interest. Both were asked to meet with selectmen, Nichols said.
Webber previously served on the RSU 9 board for 11 years until he resigned in January 2005. He spent some of that time as chairman of the board.
