RUMFORD — Selectmen will have a full agenda when they meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, in Rumford Falls Auditorium.

There is also an executive session scheduled for a personnel matter that is likely about whether to extend Town Manager John Madigan’s contract.

At their organizational meeting June 11, selectmen held an executive session on the contract. After exiting the session, newly-elected Selectman Mark Belanger motioned to extend Madigan’s contract to June 30, 2014, according to draft minutes from the meeting made available Tuesday. June 30 is the end of Rumford’s fiscal year.

Additionally, Belanger’s motion was subject to approval by the Mexico Board of Selectmen and scheduling a joint meeting between the Mexico and Rumford boards to discuss renewal of the joint agreement. Both towns share Madigan as town manager.

Belanger’s motion was seconded and unanimously approved, 5-0. Rumford selectmen tentatively agreed to schedule a meeting with Mexico selectmen at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, before the Rumford board’s meeting.

During the organizational meeting, selectmen unanimously voted to change the long-standing 7 p.m. board meeting time to 6:30 p.m.

The Rumford board on Thursday night will receive a report from the town auditor on the town audit and field a request from the ad hoc committee for the Tax-Acquired Property Program.

Additionally, approvals are sought for:

* An updated emergency operations plan.

* A warm-mix asphalt bid for the following new paving projects: Linnell and Hancock streets and Martin Road; and overlay projects for Martin Road and Hancock, Urquhart, Lochness and Erchles streets and Clachan Place.

* The transfer of forfeiture assets of $690 to the Police Department from a criminal case in which the department made a substantial contribution to the investigation.

* The General Assistance budget recommendation. Voters on June 10 defeated the proposed budget of $93,406 by a tally of 773-700, forcing selectmen to revisit the budget.

* A special town meeting for the General Assistance budget article.

* A warrant for the special town meeting.

Selectmen are scheduled to discuss an offer on the tax-acquired property at 387 High St.; a rescheduling of the board’s July 3 meeting; and acceptance of a Wells Fargo offer to donate 125 Washington St. and $19,000 to the town.

Selectmen are asked to approve a hawker’s and peddler’s licence for Melody Holmquist, doing business as Mel’s Nature Treasures, with permission for overnight setup; and to consider a request from Eddie Shurtleff to place a circle of 13 Betsy Ross flags at each Memorial Green on July 2 and remove them on July 5.
