EUSTIS — An unloaded trailer came loose from a tractor pulling out of ReEnergy Stratton Biomass Plant onto Route 27 on Thursday afternoon, Franklin County Deputy Matt Brann said.

There was no damage to the truck or trailer and no injuries, he said.

The tractor-trailer was making a left turn from Fontaine Road onto Route 27, he said, when the accident happened.

“The king pin was not properly secured and the trailer came loose from the truck,” he said.

Mark Kelso, 51, of Burnham was driving the rig owned by Athens-based Linkletter Trucking Inc.

Brann was assisted by Maine State Police Commercial Enforcement Unit Trooper Bernard Campbell and Eustis Fire Department.

Representatives of the biomass plant used a loader to lift the trailer out of the ditch, Brann said.

There was damage to the curbing on the road, Brann said. The Maine Department of Transportation was notified.
