1951 – 2014

LEWISTON — Fred Ernest Moody Sr., 63, of Maple Street in Lisbon Falls, died Thursday, June 19, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Brunswick on March 2, 1951, a son of the late Alfred and Ruth (Haney) Moody. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 10 years.

Fred met his true love and married the former Johanna Weber in Giessen, Germany, on Nov. 22, 1974. He then went on to work as an outside machinist for BIW, until he had to retire because of health issues.

Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing and being an artist, and loved spending time with his family. He was a prankster and knew how to light up a room with his witty sense of humor.

He leaves his wife of almost 40 years, Johanna Moody, of Lisbon Falls; four children, Frederick Moody Jr. and wife, Rebecca, of California, Frederick Moody III and wife, Deborah, of Nashua, N.H., Gail Winslow and companion, Tim, of Lisbon Falls and Harry “Al” Moody and companion, Samantha Thompson, of Sabattus; eight grandchildren, Colin Higgins, Cameron Moody, Jessica Moody, Nataliegh Moody, Cora Moody, Alyssa Moody, Alex Russell and Robert Russell; three brothers, Ronald Moody and wife, Sandy, of Topsham, Rodney Moody of Brunswick and Alfred Moody and wife, Sandy, of Lisbon Falls; a sister, Gale Bowman and husband, Joseph, of Dresden; two stepsisters, Tonya Farhad of Richmond and Rhonda Lemieux of Brunswick; two stepbrothers, Bub Taylor and wife, Jane, of Bowdoinham and Greg Taylor of Westbrook; and several nieces and nephews.
