AUBURN — Barbara G. Berry, 80, of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, June 24, in Auburn at the Androscoggin Hospice House, after fighting a courageous 12-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1933, a daughter of Donald and Doris Goodnough, in North Jay. She worked for G.H. Bass for a year and a half, until 1964, when she became a mother and homemaker.
Barbara was a member and Sunday school teacher at Wilton Congregational Church and then later at Farmington Falls Baptist Church, where she also led the youth choir. She enjoyed spending time at the family’s camp on Clearwater Lake in Industry and spending winters in Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Russell; a daughter, Susan Scott, of North New Portland; granddaughters, Samantha Scott of Hollywood, Calif., and Caitlin Scott of Hampden; a sister, Ruth Estes, of North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
