DIXFIELD — Ludden Memorial Library Summer Reading Program will begin on Tuesday, July 1, with a “Stuffed Animal Pet Show” which will take place at 2 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.

Children are invited to bring in their cutest, cuddliest, most favorite stuffed animal of any kind to show the three judges. They can make a cute “pet collar” for their animals. Judges will be Vicki Carrier of the Dixfield Town Office, Dixfield Police Chief Richard Pickett and Library Board of Trustees member Bill DeVries.

Library programs to follow are: July 8, “Mr. I the Science Guy” will perform fizzing and booming experiments; July 15, The Chewonki Foundation will present “The Birds of Prey” program with beautiful, live birds of prey; July 22, on Arts & Crafts Day participants will have fun making “Glowing Firefly Bug Jars”; July 29, the closing program will feature “The Greg & Axel Show.” Axel is a large black dog who assists Greg in the magic show. Reading certificates will be presented and cake will be served.

All programs will run from 2 to 3 p.m.
