AUBURN — The Auburn Art Club held its Annual Meeting on April 1 at the Culinary Arts Center at Central Maine Community College. A short business meeting was held prior to the delicious luncheon.
Outgoing President Joyce Campbell thanked everyone for their support during her two-year term as president. She introduced the officers for the coming term: Stephanie Upton, president; Kathy Cutter, vice president; Benita Flynn, recording secretary; Jeanne LaLiberte, corresponding secretary; and June Spear, publicist.
Following the luncheon, the group was treated to a slide show and talk by Madelyn Given about her through-hike of the Appalachian Trail which she accomplished in 2009. It was a wonderful story about an amazing feat and all were entranced by her presentation. She also had copies of her book, “Outstanding Feats by an Ordinary Woman,” which was published in 2013. It has been noted by several people on many occasions that Madelyn is anything but an “ordinary woman.”
Regular club meetings will resume on Oct. 7.
