BRANFORD, Conn. — Joan Grunert, 86, of Guilford, Conn., passed away Saturday, June 14, in Branford, Conn.

Surviving are a sister, Shirley Martin, of New Sharon; two nieces, Mary Jane Beckwith of Portsmouth, N.H., and Ann Grunert of Somersworth, N.H.; and a nephew, John Grunert, of Brookline, Mass.

Joan received her bachelor’s degree in education from Farmington State Teachers College.
