I witnessed an incident so uplifting recently that I have to share it.

Around 8 a.m., I was puttering in the kitchen and heard someone whistling outside. As I looked out my front screen door, I saw a city worker walking down the street with an orange work flag and stand, swinging his arms and whistling what certainly must have been a happy tune.

As he started walking back up the street, I said to him from my doorway “I was wondering who was doing the happy whistling.”

He was a handsome young man with a great smile and he replied “I’m happy because I’m working. This is Monday morning and I want to keep it that way!”

I had a good feeling all day.
