Poulin is best known for her live performances, including the play “Ida: Woman Who Runs with the Moose.” She writes about and performs as “Ida LeClair” throughout New England. Her plays, which also include “Ida’s Havin’ a Yard Sale” and “A Very Ida Christmas,” have won numerous awards.

Selected by Portland Magazine as one of the Ten Most Intriguing People in Maine, she has been creating and touring her original theatrical productions since 1992. She has been a featured performer at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston; The Maine Festival; the Minneapolis Fringe Theater Festival; and Portland, Maine’s Cassandra Project. Her work has been supported by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the Maine Arts Commission, and the Maine Humanities Council. She lives in Eliot, Maine, with her husband, Gordon Carlisle.
