ORONO — University of Maine men’s ice hockey incoming freshman Nolan Vesey fo North Reading, Massachusetts, has been selected in the 2014 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Vesey was chosen in the sixth round, 158th overall.
Last season, Vesey played for the South Shore Kings of the USPHL, where he scored 26 goals and added 40 assists for 66 points in 48 games. Vesey is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound forward who shoots left-handed.
Vesey is one of several talented recruits set to play for the Black Bears this fall.
