1954 – 2014

NEWMARKET, N.H. — Dr. Joni A. B. Barrows, DDS, 60, of Newmarket, died at her home on Thursday, June 26, after an extended illness.

Dr. Barrows was born in Lewiston on May 25, 1954, a daughter of the late Edward and Adella (Stasulis) Bush. She was raised in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School. Dr. B. earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Loyola University Chicago and her medical degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wis.

She met her husband, Terry Barrows, in Chicago, and they were married in May 1979. She moved to Newmarket, N.H., in 1989 and opened her dental practice in Hampton that same year. She continued practicing until the time of her death.

Joni loved exotic and unusual flowers and was creative in designing her gardens. She enjoyed reading, classical music, movies and holidays, and she was also an avid Boston and Chicago sports fan.

In addition to her beloved husband, Terry, Joni is survived by her sister, Glennis Chabot and her husband, Roger, of Scarborough; her nephew, Marc B. E. Chabot and his wife, Candace, of New York City; her niece, Michaelyn Smith and her husband, Stephen, of Belgrade and their children, Megan, Kaitlyn and Jason Smith. She also leaves her two kittens, Wellsley and Pesto.

Joni was a loving and caring wife, sister and aunt and a dear friend to many, she will be sadly missed.
