Rick Breton of St. Laurent & Sons rolls the new section of the Lisbon trail system Monday. The 2-mile Androscoggin River Trail will connect to the Papermill and Ricker Farm trails for a total of 4 miles of bicycle and pedestrian paths. Project Superintendent John Bosse said the 10-foot-wide trail winds along the river and through the woods before ending at Davis and Blethen streets in Lisbon Falls. Paving will begin around July 21, and crews hope to be finished by Aug. 20.
A 16-foot-high retaining wall was built to accommodate the 2-mile Androscoggin River Trail in Lisbon Falls. The wall is designed for construction on wetlands, Project Superintendent John Bosse said. “Grass will grow out from the wall, and you will not be able to tell the wall is even there.”
