1947 – 2014

NORWAY — Darrell R. Taylor, 67, of Norway, died at his home on Thursday, June 26, with his wife by his side.

He was born in Princeton, W.Va., on May 3, 1947, the son of William McAdoo Taylor and Sallie Frances Honaker Taylor. He served in the U.S. Army for 19 years between 1965 and 1984. While in the military, he had been a truck driver and a chauffeur in Washington, D.C.

He married Dorothy Deming on July 10, 1995. Darrell was a member of the American Legion Post No. 150 in Mechanic Falls, was a Santa’s helper and a volunteer for the Head Start program. He loved to go bowling and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his wife of Norway; his father; a son, Michael; a daughter, Melissa; two granddaughters, Hannah and Emily; two sisters, Darlene and Angel; a brother, Marty; and his dogs; a special little girl, Leah, and Finnigan.

He was predeceased by his mother; a sister, Paulette; and a brother, Giles Johnson “GJ.”
