LEWISTON — A local woman was injured Thursday morning when her van knocked down a utility pole in front of Elmet Technologies on Lisbon Street.
Maryan Harat, 43, was taken to a hospital, Lewiston police Lt. Mark Cornelio said. Police do not know why her van hit the pole, he said. No one else was in the van.
Police said Harat’s 1999 Toyota Sienna was headed toward downtown Lewiston when it crashed. A tractor-trailer just missed getting caught in the downed wires.
CMP spokeswoman Gail Rice said the crash caused 1,233 power outages at homes and businesses. Power was restored by 11:15 a.m., Rice said.
