PORTLAND — The Nova Star ferry service from Yarmouth to Portland has been canceled today because of Hurricane Arthur.

Though the storm was not as dangerous as predicted, the conditions forced company officials to dock the ferry until Saturday evening when it will resume service.

The ferry also canceled a voyage from Portland to Yarmouth on Friday.

Passengers may change their reservations to the next available date or cancel without penalty.
