1936 – 2014

LEWISTON — Harold “Buster” G. Gaudreau, 77, of Bethel, died Sunday, July 6, at Central Maine Medical Center. Buster fought a brave battle with pancreatic cancer for 16 months.

He was born in Aurora on Nov. 17, 1936, a son of Paul and Gertrude Micue Gaudreau. He attended schools in Mariaville, Dover-Foxcroft and Bath. He married Mary Jane Spinney on June 14, 1958, and resided in Hanover for four years before moving to Bethel in 1962.

He was employed by E. G. Blake and Son and P. H. Chadbourne, and was associated with Gaudreau’s Repair as a wrecker operator. He refused to give in to cancer and continued to work at the job he loved, being a tow truck driver, or snowplowing, running the fork lift to move cars, cleaning the office, phone duty in the office at Gaudreau’s Repair, delivering cars or picking up customers. He was an animal lover, especially his sheltie dogs; he leaves behind Skipper and Sadie.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years; son, Geoffrey of Bethel and his companion, Juli; son, Tom and wife, Diane, of Woodstock; son, David and wife, Dale, of Greenwood; son, Bradley and wife, Carolyn, of Bethel; brothers, Albert of Gilead and Robert of Pennsylvania; a sister, Pauline Hall, of Cape Elizabeth; grandchildren, Maegan, Ryan, Precious, Joshua, Brandon, Celesse, Andrea, Emily and Alex Gaudreau and Jacob; and one great-granddaughter, Khloe.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Betsy.
