BIDDEFORD — Police said they want to talk to an Auburn man in connection with a weekend shooting that left two people dead inside a Biddeford apartment.

Lance Palmer, 44, of Auburn is one of two men who may have information about the Sunday evening shootings. Although there are no arrest warrants issued for Palmer, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Palmer should be considered armed and dangerous.

State police also are looking for Christopher Dube, 28, of Dover, N.H.

McCausland said Dube has an arrest warrant issued for him in connection with an unrelated probation violation.

Investigators said they interviewed two men and two women who were inside the Western Avenue apartment about 7 p.m. Sunday. They had fled the area.

The victims were identified as 37-year-old Jeffrey Lude of Biddeford and 42-year-old Russell Lavoie of Old Orchard Beach. One man died at Maine Medical Center in Portland and the other died in an ambulance.

McDonough said neither man lived in the apartment, but they had legitimate reason to be there. He said the shootings were not random acts.

Anyone with information on Dube or Palmer should call Maine State Police in Gray at 207-657-3030.
