1924 – 2014

LEWISTON — Colleen Florence Saunders, 90, of Sabattus and formerly of Cundy’s Harbor, died Saturday, July 5, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Greene on June 18, 1924, a daughter of the late Arthur E. and Roseanna McGraw Ramsay. She was educated in Sabattus schools and graduated from Sabattus High School in 1942. Colleen was married on Oct. 10, 1947, to Stuart T. Saunders; he predeceased her on Jan. 25, 1983.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as the switchboard operator at Knapp Shoe Co.

She had such great memories of the years she lived in Cundy’s Harbor.

She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 60 in Wales. She loved spending time with family and cherished her time with her grandchildren.

Colleen is survived by three grandchildren, Craig Saunders and wife, Heidi, of Edgecomb, Wayne A. Saunders Jr. of Waterville and Jonica L. Frank and husband, Nicholas, of Somerville; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Chase, of Durham; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by a son, Wayne A. Saunders Sr.
