SCARBOROUGH (AP) — Police say a car rammed a Scarborough doughnut shop apparently in an effort to rob it.
Employees arriving for work at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Thursday morning found that the studs at the back of the building had been pushed in and the vinyl siding damaged.
A review of security video showed images of a car ramming the building.
Police say the video showed images of a Toyota Camry shining its lights on the rear door of the building, then accelerating and hitting the building just to the side of the door.
The Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1lZWxZI) reports that the car did not break through and after the ramming attempt, drove away.
Damage was estimated at about $2,000.
Police got the car’s license plate number from the video
