1959 – 2014

MEXICO — Ellen F. “Ellie” Theriault, 54, died Thursday, July 10, at her home on Roxbury Road, Mexico, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Rumford on Sept. 17, 1959, the daughter of Donald and Carolyn (Rice) McCann Sr. and graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1977.

Ellie worked as a bartender at the Rumford Falls Aerie Fraternal Order of Eagles for many years. She was a Communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius — St. John Church; a member of the Rumford Falls Aerie No. 1248, F.O.E., Napoleon Ouellette Post No. 24, American Legion and LeParesseux Snowshoe Club. She loved to spend winters in Arizona with her family. She was a kid at heart who loved cartoons, bubbles and toys.

Ellie was married in Rangeley on Sept. 16, 1995, to Thomas P. Theriault, who died in Mexico on Feb. 14, 2011.

Survivors include a son, Dan McCann of Gray; granddaughter, Tasia McCann of Mexico; sisters, Sharon Weeks and husband, Tim, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Becky Weston and husband, Fred, of Roxbury; sister-in-law, Patricia McCann of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.
